The XTX50 regulator can be converted from a right handed hose configuration (as supplied from the APEKS factory in the standard) to a left handed one. This feature is known as the Reversible Venturi System (RVS). Changing the regulator to a left handed configuration is both quick and simple and can be performed by any APEKS Authorised Service Technician.
The XTX50 regulator incorporates the new feature of Diver Changeable Exhausts system (DCE). This system gives the diver the ability to change from a small exhaust tee to a large exhaust tee. This gives the user a choice of the wider exhaust tee for minimal bubble interference (essential for underwater photography) and the narrow exhaust tee for a smaller compact comfortable regulator (ideal for use as an octopus regulator).
The XTX50 regulator incorporates a new two-shot high strength plastic front cover, improving the durability of the most vulnerable part of the demand valve.
The new ergonomic Venturi lever of the XTX50 has been designed to reduce the amount of grit ingress.
A new swivel hose connection is available at an extra cost. This allows the demand valve end of the hose connection to rotate and pivot, providing a more comfortable fit.
A new silicone exhaust valve has been used on the XTX50 regulator improving breathing performance.

Although the Apeks XTX40 and Ds4 is a mid-range Apeks regulator, it is still classed as a high performance regulator in independent reviews. The XTX40 comes with all the features of our highly successful XTX50 with the exception of diver adjustable breathing resistance control.

Try telling an engineer that a design, any design, can’t be made… better. In our case that challenge led directly to the ZEO.
We started with the EOS, a legendary regulator known for its comfort and breathing profile and ended up with the ZEO. Like its predecessor the EOS, the ZEO is also a phenomenal breather allowing the diver extensive control over the air flow profile at any depth. It takes this design one step further however by incorporating a tough and corrosion resistant chrome plated marine brass valve that has better cold water performance and even a better breathing experience. The all metal valve encourages the condensation of water vapor from your exhalation on the valve housing. When you inhale that condensed water vapor circulates with the airflow and helps to reduce “dry mouth” and increase the overall level of comfort. First stage for dry suit inflation devices.
Two types of first stages:
DIN GAS 5/8 compact first stage with integrated low profile pressure relief valve. Two low (3/8 UNF) outputs (one of the outputs is already occupied by the pressure relief valve) and one high (7/16 UNF) output.
First stage W21.8 specific inert gas with integrated pressure relief valve. 1 high output (7/16 UNF) and 1 low output (3/8 UNF)
hermoformable mouthpiece for diving regulator
Thanks to the thermoformable mouthpiece for regulator, your regulator will be easier to hold.
You will gain comfort and safety.
To use the moldable expander mouthpiece, simply hold it in hot water for a few moments.
It must then be kept in the mouth while biting the mouthpiece. That's it, your mouthpiece is now adapted to your oral morphology.
To remold the thermoformable mouthpiece, just let it soften in very hot water!
Thermoformable regulator mouthpiece instructions for use
- Step 1: Insert the mouthpiece "UP" into the mouth, trimming the excess material so that it does not touch the back of the gum.
- Step 2: Hold the tip on the black handle and immerse the whole assembly for 10-20 seconds in hot water at 90/100°C. Do not remove the handle yet.
- Step 3: Remove the mouthpiece from the water, leaving it to cool for 6/15 seconds. Place tip in mouth and bite gently to shape.
- Step 4: After shaping, remove the black pins on the sides and handle. If the desired result is not achieved, repeat steps 1 to 4.
